A number of festivals are held at Jambay Lhakhang, which is regarded as one of Bhutan’s most revered and historic temples. It is ten minutes’ drive from Jakar town and situated between Khurjey Lhakhang and Jakar Dzong. One of the 108 buildings King Songsten Gampo erected, it was built in the seventh century and houses religious artifacts and statues. Aside from admiring the magnificent sculptures and architecture, one could also watch the monks and townspeople conduct religious dances and ceremonies while dressed in colorful and brilliant clothing. It is advised to adhere to proper clothing etiquette.
