Rigsum Gonpa In Haa is one of the best mountain experiences you would ever get to see, where mountains of same height and similar size stands in a row. Three Bodhisattvas—Avalokiteshvara (Chenresig), the Buddha of compassion, Manjushri (Jampelyang), the Buddha of wisdom and knowledge, and Vajrapani (Chana Dorji), the Buddha of power and victory—are associated with these three towering identical mountains known as Meri Puensum or Rigsum Gonpo. All the mountains are around the same size, and the Haa people regard them as three sacred mountains that serve as a protective shield for the Haa valley’s gods. One of Bhutan’s outstanding examples of identical hills is this one.
